Project Title: Estimation of Actual Rainfall from Satellite
Rainfall
Description
Satellite based Rainfall (SR) has certain
limitations in terms of estimation and uncertainty in rainfall prediction. We
performed some validation tests, which quantified the errors in SR estimations.
We constructed a model that characterised the conditional distribution of
Actual Rainfall (AR) given the SR estimates. First performed a series of
statistical methods to analyze the nature of both SR and AR data and quantify
the errors in SR estimations. Then apply interpolation methods to study the
spatial distributions of both SR and AR and estimate the rainfall measurement
in un-sampled points then create a continuous dataset that could be represented
over a map of the entire study area.
